# Garmin Drive™ vs NAV

The clearest difference is ads: Garmin Drive™ at none against NAV's shown. Garmin Drive™ also leads on ratings volume (9.3K vs 5) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). NAV's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NAV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Drive™ has 9.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Garmin Drive™ ships an update monthly, NAV every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
