# Hotlap vs LapSnap

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hotlap at 69% against LapSnap's 30%. Hotlap also leads on ads (none vs shown). LapSnap's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (241 vs 79). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hotlap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and LapSnap sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LapSnap holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 79 and 241 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Hotlap's written reviews are positive against 30% of LapSnap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hotlap ships an update monthly, LapSnap fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
