# Hotlap vs Laps

The clearest difference is rating: Laps at 5.0 against Hotlap's 4.3. Laps also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 4 weeks). Hotlap's advantage is ratings volume (79 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hotlap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Laps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Laps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hotlap has 79 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hotlap ships an update every 4 weeks, Laps every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
