# Twinkl vs First Book Community

The clearest difference is monetization model: First Book Community at free against Twinkl's free with in-app purchases. Twinkl's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Twinkl against 5.0 for First Book Community. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Twinkl has 2.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Twinkl ships an update every 2 weeks, First Book Community weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
