# LED DMX vs LED Strip

The clearest difference is update cadence: LED DMX at every 9 days against LED Strip's every 4 months. LED DMX also leads on ratings volume (91 vs 7) and review sentiment (11% vs 0%). LED Strip's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.4). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LED Strip holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LED DMX has 91 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of LED DMX's written reviews are positive against 0% of LED Strip's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LED DMX ships an update every 9 days, LED Strip every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
