# Memeto vs GIF Maker ◐

Memeto and GIF Maker ◐ both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 70% of Memeto's written reviews are positive against 32% of GIF Maker ◐'s. Memeto also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). GIF Maker ◐'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Memeto sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and GIF Maker ◐ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Memeto against 4.7 for GIF Maker ◐. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GIF Maker ◐ has 3K ratings behind it against 161, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 70% of Memeto's written reviews are positive against 32% of GIF Maker ◐'s.

Memeto ships an update every 6 months, GIF Maker ◐ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
