# Type Fast vs Type

The clearest difference is rating: Type Fast at 4.4 against Type's 3.0. Type Fast also leads on ratings volume (521 vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). Type's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Type Fast sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Type asks for nothing beyond the download.

Type Fast holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Type Fast has 521 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Type Fast's written reviews are positive against 100% of Type's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Type Fast ships an update fortnightly, Type every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
