# Type Fast vs Type a Book

The clearest difference is rating: Type a Book at 5.0 against Type Fast's 4.4. Type Fast's advantage is ratings volume (521 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Type Fast sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Type a Book sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Type a Book holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Type Fast has 521 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Type Fast ships an update fortnightly, Type a Book every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
