# Timer Plus vs Interval Timer

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Timer Plus at 60K against Interval Timer's 246. Timer Plus also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer Plus sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Interval Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Timer Plus against 4.9 for Interval Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer Plus has 60K ratings behind it against 246, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Timer Plus's written reviews are positive against 84% of Interval Timer's.

Timer Plus ships an update every 3 weeks, Interval Timer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
