# DW Alert vs Y Combinator

The clearest difference is rating: DW Alert at 5.0 against Y Combinator's 4.3. DW Alert also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.4). Y Combinator's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 39 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DW Alert holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Y Combinator has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DW Alert ships an update every 39 months, Y Combinator every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
