# Equiscribe vs AI Chat

The clearest difference is monetization model: Equiscribe at freemium against AI Chat's subscription. AI Chat's advantage is ratings volume (115 vs 4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Equiscribe sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $99.99 per year and AI Chat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Equiscribe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Chat has 115 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Equiscribe's written reviews are positive against 97% of AI Chat's.

Equiscribe ships an update every 5 weeks, AI Chat fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
