# SpotTheSpy vs Netcraft

SpotTheSpy and Netcraft both sit at 3.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Netcraft's written reviews are positive against 46% of SpotTheSpy's. Netcraft also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). SpotTheSpy's advantage is ratings volume (90 vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SpotTheSpy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Netcraft sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.5 for SpotTheSpy against 3.7 for Netcraft. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpotTheSpy has 90 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of SpotTheSpy's written reviews are positive against 83% of Netcraft's.

SpotTheSpy ships an update every 2 months, Netcraft every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
