# Lightning GPS vs Tracki GPS

The clearest difference is rating: Lightning GPS at 3.3 against Tracki GPS's 2.7. Tracki GPS's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (465 vs 21). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lightning GPS holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tracki GPS has 465 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Lightning GPS's written reviews are positive against 42% of Tracki GPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lightning GPS ships an update every 7 months, Tracki GPS every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
