# Odyssey Companion vs Frontiers Map

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Odyssey Companion at 77% against Frontiers Map's 20%. Odyssey Companion also leads on rating (4.5 vs 3.6) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 12). Frontiers Map's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Odyssey Companion sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Frontiers Map sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Odyssey Companion holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Odyssey Companion has 1.7K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Odyssey Companion's written reviews are positive against 20% of Frontiers Map's.

Odyssey Companion ships an update every 6 weeks, Frontiers Map every 6 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
