# EVgo vs PowerFlex

The clearest difference is monetization model: PowerFlex at free against EVgo's free with in-app purchases. EVgo's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 21%) and ratings volume (32K vs 5.4K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for EVgo against 4.8 for PowerFlex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EVgo has 32K ratings behind it against 5.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of EVgo's written reviews are positive against 21% of PowerFlex's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
