# GroomerTracker vs MBA MacPass

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MBA MacPass at 100% against GroomerTracker's 42%. MBA MacPass also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 18) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). GroomerTracker's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 54 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GroomerTracker sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. MBA MacPass asks for nothing beyond the download.

GroomerTracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GroomerTracker has 894 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of GroomerTracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of MBA MacPass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GroomerTracker ships an update every 3 months, MBA MacPass every 54 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
