# Handicap Tracker vs Swing Sensei

The clearest difference is ads: Swing Sensei at none against Handicap Tracker's shown. Swing Sensei also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). Handicap Tracker's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (73% vs 61%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Handicap Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and Swing Sensei sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Swing Sensei holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 214 and 576 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Handicap Tracker's written reviews are positive against 61% of Swing Sensei's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Handicap Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, Swing Sensei every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
