# VPN vs VPN Vault

The clearest difference is chart position: VPN at #207 against VPN Vault's unranked. VPN also leads on ratings volume (177K vs 29K). VPN Vault's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and VPN Vault sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.6 for VPN Vault. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 177K ratings behind it against 29K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 86% of VPN Vault's.

VPN ships an update every 6 weeks, VPN Vault every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
