# Standard Notes vs Note Fold

The clearest difference is ads: Standard Notes at none against Note Fold's shown. Note Fold's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Standard Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $119.99 per year and Note Fold sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Standard Notes ships an update every 5 weeks, Note Fold every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
