# solAR vs ARium

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ARium at none against solAR's 1. ARium also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%). solAR's advantage is ratings volume (2.1K vs 10) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 7 months). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. solAR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ARium asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for solAR against 4.6 for ARium. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: solAR has 2.1K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of solAR's written reviews are positive against 100% of ARium's.

solAR ships an update every 3 months, ARium every 7 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
