# solAR vs Smart Word Cloud

The clearest difference is rating: solAR at 4.6 against Smart Word Cloud's 3.5. solAR also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 6). Smart Word Cloud's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. solAR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Smart Word Cloud asks for nothing beyond the download.

solAR holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: solAR has 2.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of solAR's written reviews are positive against 100% of Smart Word Cloud's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

solAR ships an update every 3 months, Smart Word Cloud every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
