# Speak vs Parrot

The clearest difference is monetization model: Speak at free with in-app purchases against Parrot's subscription. Speak also leads on review sentiment (66% vs 45%) and chart position (#9 vs #48). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speak sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month and Parrot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
