# Digital Clock vs Flip clock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Digital Clock at free with in-app purchases against Flip clock's subscription. Digital Clock also leads on ratings volume (69K vs 4.9K) and review sentiment (67% vs 59%). Flip clock's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Clock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Flip clock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Digital Clock against 4.5 for Flip clock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital Clock has 69K ratings behind it against 4.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of Digital Clock's written reviews are positive against 59% of Flip clock's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
