# Digital Clock vs Speed Dial Widgets

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Speed Dial Widgets at none against Digital Clock's 3. Speed Dial Widgets also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (78% vs 67%). Digital Clock's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (69K vs 185). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Clock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Speed Dial Widgets asks for nothing beyond the download.

Digital Clock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital Clock has 69K ratings behind it against 185, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Digital Clock's written reviews are positive against 78% of Speed Dial Widgets's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Digital Clock ships an update fortnightly, Speed Dial Widgets every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
