# Transcriber vs Voice Notebook

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Voice Notebook at 83% against Transcriber's 8%. Voice Notebook also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (89 vs 6). Transcriber's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transcriber sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Voice Notebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Voice Notebook holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voice Notebook has 89 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 8% of Transcriber's written reviews are positive against 83% of Voice Notebook's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
