# AeroChart vs GeoCharts

The clearest difference is monetization model: GeoCharts at free with in-app purchases against AeroChart's subscription. GeoCharts also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months). AeroChart's advantage is ratings volume (56 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AeroChart sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and GeoCharts sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for AeroChart against 4.3 for GeoCharts. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AeroChart has 56 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AeroChart ships an update every 2 months, GeoCharts every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
