# AeroChart vs V1Sidekick

The clearest difference is rating: V1Sidekick at 5.0 against AeroChart's 4.4. V1Sidekick also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). AeroChart's advantage is ratings volume (56 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AeroChart sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and V1Sidekick sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

V1Sidekick holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AeroChart has 56 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AeroChart ships an update every 2 months, V1Sidekick every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
