# MyBG vs Aruba Smart Map

The clearest difference is ads: MyBG at none against Aruba Smart Map's shown. MyBG also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (965 vs 38). Aruba Smart Map's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 53%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyBG holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyBG has 965 ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of MyBG's written reviews are positive against 83% of Aruba Smart Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyBG ships an update every 12 months, Aruba Smart Map every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
