# Rootd vs Fluid Simulation

The clearest difference is update cadence: Fluid Simulation at every 2 days against Rootd's every 5 days. Fluid Simulation also leads on review sentiment (96% vs 82%) and ratings volume (90K vs 11K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rootd sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Fluid Simulation sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Rootd against 4.9 for Fluid Simulation. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fluid Simulation has 90K ratings behind it against 11K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 82% of Rootd's written reviews are positive against 96% of Fluid Simulation's.

Rootd ships an update every 5 days, Fluid Simulation every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
