# Rootd vs Positive Affirmations

The clearest difference is monetization model: Rootd at freemium against Positive Affirmations's subscription. Rootd also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 4) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Positive Affirmations's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rootd sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Positive Affirmations sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Rootd holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rootd has 11K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Rootd's written reviews are positive against 100% of Positive Affirmations's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
