# Q vs Screen Time Control

The clearest difference is rating: Q at 5.0 against Screen Time Control's 4.5. Q also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 17.6). Screen Time Control's advantage is ratings volume (33 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Q asks for nothing beyond the download.

Q holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Time Control has 33 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Q's written reviews are positive against 74% of Screen Time Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Q ships an update every 2 weeks, Screen Time Control fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
