# Bear Evolution vs Predecessor

The clearest difference is rating: Bear Evolution at 4.8 against Predecessor's 3.0. Bear Evolution also leads on ratings volume (138 vs 1). Predecessor's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bear Evolution sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Predecessor sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bear Evolution holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bear Evolution has 138 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bear Evolution ships an update every 5 weeks, Predecessor every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
