# Superlocal vs Sugar

The clearest difference is rating: Superlocal at 4.2 against Sugar's 2.4. Superlocal also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 10). Sugar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 days). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Superlocal sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Sugar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Superlocal holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Superlocal has 3.1K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Superlocal's written reviews are positive against 32% of Sugar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Superlocal ships an update every 6 days, Sugar every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
