# FotoDa vs Surrealizer

The clearest difference is rating: FotoDa at 4.0 against Surrealizer's 3.3. FotoDa also leads on review sentiment (59% vs 20%) and ratings volume (139 vs 11). Surrealizer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FotoDa sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Surrealizer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FotoDa holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FotoDa has 139 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of FotoDa's written reviews are positive against 20% of Surrealizer's.

FotoDa ships an update every 9 months, Surrealizer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
