# GPS Speedometer vs SpeedOmeter SP

The clearest difference is rating: SpeedOmeter SP at 5.0 against GPS Speedometer's 4.0. SpeedOmeter SP also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). GPS Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Speedometer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and SpeedOmeter SP sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SpeedOmeter SP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Speedometer has 4.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GPS Speedometer ships an update every 2 months, SpeedOmeter SP every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
