# The Articles vs Codex4

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Articles at 79% against Codex4's 50%. The Articles also leads on ratings volume (148 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Codex4's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Articles sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and Codex4 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Codex4 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Articles has 148 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of The Articles's written reviews are positive against 50% of Codex4's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Articles ships an update every 3 weeks, Codex4 every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
