# ADM vs Shield VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Shield VPN at 4.6 against ADM's 3.7. Shield VPN also leads on ratings volume (503 vs 3) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 4 months). ADM's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shield VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. ADM asks for nothing beyond the download.

Shield VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shield VPN has 503 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ADM ships an update every 4 months, Shield VPN every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
