# News RSS vs NiceNews

The clearest difference is rating: NiceNews at 5.0 against News RSS's 3.3. News RSS's advantage is ratings volume (29 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. News RSS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and NiceNews sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NiceNews holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: News RSS has 29 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

News RSS ships an update weekly, NiceNews every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
