# People's Daily vs PPDB

The clearest difference is ads: PPDB at none against People's Daily's shown. PPDB also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). People's Daily's advantage is ratings volume (37 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PPDB holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: People's Daily has 37 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
