# Ghost vs Ghost detector

The clearest difference is rating: Ghost at 4.1 against Ghost detector's 3.0. Ghost also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). Ghost detector's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 59%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost detector sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Ghost asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ghost holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost has 134 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Ghost's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ghost detector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ghost ships an update every 2 months, Ghost detector weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
