# Hyre vs Bilkollektivet

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bilkollektivet at free against Hyre's free with in-app purchases. Hyre's advantage is ratings volume (223 vs 14) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hyre holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hyre has 223 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of Hyre's written reviews are positive against 50% of Bilkollektivet's.

Hyre ships an update weekly, Bilkollektivet fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
