# Tips vs Tipify

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tips at none against Tipify's 2. Tips also leads on ratings volume (153 vs 4) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.2). Tipify's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 13 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tipify sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year. Tips asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tips holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tips has 153 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Tips ships an update every 13 months, Tipify every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
