# RibCrib vs 1889

The clearest difference is ads: 1889 at none against RibCrib's shown. 1889 also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). RibCrib's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for RibCrib against 5.0 for 1889. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RibCrib has 12K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
