# CBAT vs PPL Exam Preparation

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CBAT at 87% against PPL Exam Preparation's 23%. CBAT also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.3) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). PPL Exam Preparation's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CBAT sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PPL Exam Preparation sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CBAT holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 7 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of CBAT's written reviews are positive against 23% of PPL Exam Preparation's.

CBAT ships an update every 3 days, PPL Exam Preparation every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
