# Mint Mobile vs BBguarder

Mint Mobile and BBguarder both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 89% of BBguarder's written reviews are positive against 46% of Mint Mobile's. BBguarder also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.6). Mint Mobile's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (260K vs 15). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BBguarder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Mint Mobile asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mint Mobile holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mint Mobile has 260K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Mint Mobile's written reviews are positive against 89% of BBguarder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mint Mobile ships an update every 11 days, BBguarder every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
