# Driftscape vs Chipmunk

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Driftscape at 76% against Chipmunk's 9%. Chipmunk's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.1) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 14). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chipmunk holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chipmunk has 2.4K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Driftscape's written reviews are positive against 9% of Chipmunk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Driftscape ships an update fortnightly, Chipmunk every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
