# DU Recorder vs NexSnap

The clearest difference is ads: NexSnap at none against DU Recorder's shown. NexSnap also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly). DU Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (56K vs 88) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DU Recorder sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and NexSnap sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DU Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DU Recorder has 56K ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of DU Recorder's written reviews are positive against 33% of NexSnap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DU Recorder ships an update monthly, NexSnap weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
