# Emax vs Cartlow

The clearest difference is rating: Cartlow at 4.3 against Emax's 3.3. Cartlow also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Emax's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 28%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cartlow holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cartlow has 592 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Emax's written reviews are positive against 28% of Cartlow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Emax ships an update monthly, Cartlow every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
