# Game Notebook vs Counter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Game Notebook at none against Counter's 4. Game Notebook also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%). Counter's advantage is update cadence (every 5 months vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (47 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Counter sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Game Notebook asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Game Notebook against 4.7 for Counter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Counter has 47 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Game Notebook's written reviews are positive against 67% of Counter's.

Game Notebook ships an update every 17 months, Counter every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
