# EL Lighting vs Time

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EL Lighting at none against Time's 1. EL Lighting also leads on ads (none vs shown). Time's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 35 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. EL Lighting asks for nothing beyond the download.

EL Lighting ships an update every 35 months, Time weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
